Did you really study abroad if you didn't keep a blog? As many of my friends and family know, this semester I will be traveling to Austria to spend a semester abroad. I will be studying at Johannes Kepler University in Linz Austria from February 14-June 30th. Although, I do not start classes until mid March I am going a month early to take German intensive courses, as well as cultural classes with other exchange students. Johannes Kepler is a school that specializes in international students, especially business students, which happens to be my major. The town of Linz is in between Vienna and Salzburg, about an hour and a half from both. Linz is the third largest city in Austria and also where Hitler grew up. I will be embarking on my journey on February 12 where I will be flying into Vienna and then taking a train to Linz. I am overly excited for all the adventures and stories I will bring back. As it is my life goal to have so many experiences and crazy stories that when I am old my grandchildren will sit around and listen to all my adventures, I am calling this blog stories to tell your grandchildren because I hope to come back with just that, stories.

About a week ago my mom and I ventured to Washington DC to get my Visa, yes we had to go all the way to the Austrian Embassy in DC to get this! Although we were only there for a short time we still were able to see some monuments and visit the American History Smithsonian. Here is a picture of me standing in front of the Austrian Embassy. I have since received my visa and time is ticking down until my departure date.
I am excited to visit Europe and document all my adventures and stories here. In the words of Ibn Battuta "Traveling- it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller."
Tschuss,
Alexandra
